Advanced functional materials: preparation of core / shell fabbr3 / cspbr3 perovskite nanocrystals and their application in LED

lead halide perovskite nanocrystals (pencs) have attracted much attention due to their tunable optical properties narrow emission bwidth high fluorescence quantum yield (plqy) have been successfully applied in photodetectors light-emitting diodes other optoelectronic devices. However its inherent instability limits the development of penncs in practical applications. At present the commonly used strategy is to embed perovskite into solid matrix or to coat perovskite nanocrystals with more stable shell (such as silica alumina coating polymer). However these insulating substrates are not conducive to the charge transfer between nanocrystals which limits their applications in light-emitting diodes (LEDs) photovoltaic devices.

Professor Yang Xuyong Key Laboratory of new display technology application integration of Shanghai University Dr. Lyudmila turyanska University of Nottingham UK reported that fapbbr3 / cspbbr3 pencs with core-shell structure were prepared by epitaxial growth method the faxcs1-xpbbr3 alloy layer was formed during the coating process to solve the lattice mismatch problem between core shell. The plqy of core / shell fabbbr3 / cspbbr3 nanocrystals is up to 93% by adjusting the process parameters composition. The excellent optical stability of the core / shell of BR3 / PB3 is due to the long irradiation time. The maximum current efficiency (CE) external quantum efficiency (EQE) of LED fabricated by core-shell fabbr3 / cspbbr3 nanocrystals are 19.75 CD / A 8.1% respectively.

this study provides a new idea method for the preparation of core / shell penncs provides a realistic prospect for the application in the field of optoelectronics.
