On/Off

Select the 1st and 2nd extension lines to toggle them on or off. They are identified with the numbers 1 and 2 located below the extension line.

Overrun

Enter the distance the extension line extends past the dimension line.

 Gap

Enter The distance between the dimension point and the start of the extension line.

Arrow Type

For the first and second arrow head, select the type to use from the popup menu. They are identified with the numbers 1 and 2 located below the extension line. You can turn the arrow off by selecting the arrow with the red "X". Other shapes are also available.

Arrow Length

Enter the length of the first and second arrow heads. They are identified with the numbers 1 and 2 located below the extension line.

Arrow Location

Place the leader arrows either inside or outside of the extension lines. Select from the following:

Force Leader

Forces the leader line between the extension lines. Select from the following:

Tolerance

Type

Select the tolerance type to apply to the dimension text using the popup menu. The following types are supported:

Upper/Lower Limit

Enter the upper and lower tolerance applied to linear dimensions. You must precede each value with either a "+" or a "-" sign in order to indicate that the value is either a positive or negative limit. You can mix or match values (e.g., "+/-", "+/+" or "-/-").

Alignment

Select the alignment type to apply to the dimension text. The following types are supported.

Decimal

Places

Select the number of places to show to the right of linear dimension text. The following decimal places are supported.

Zero Suppression

Select the method of leading and trailing zero suppression. The following methods are supported.

Placement

Sets the placement of the dimension text to be manual or automatic. Select from the following:

Angular

Mode

The 3 point method of selecting and indicating angular dimensions. The 1st and 2nd points define the two lines to dimension. The 3rd point defines the included or excluded area to dimension. Select from the following:

Upper/Lower

Limit

By default the upper tolerance value is always interpreted as a positive number with or without a "+" sign. On the other hand, if you would like the upper tolerance value to get interpreted as a negative number then you precede it a "-" sign.

Similarly, by default the lower tolerance value is always interpreted as a negative number with or without the "-" sign. On the other hand, if you would like the lower tolerance value to get interpreted as a positive number then you precede it a "+" sign.

When the Tolerance Type (see above) is set to "equal tolerance" (i.e., XX+/-XX), only the upper tolerance field is enabled. The string entered in that field is your equal tolerance value.  The preceding "+" or "-" sign is ignored in this case since the dimension is always going to be displayed as "dimVal +/- dimTol"

Decimal

Places

Select the number of places to show to the right of angular dimension text. The following decimal places are supported.

Color

Select the color to apply to all dimension components except for the dimension text. Use the Text tab to assign the dimension text color.

Use alternate

units

You must check this box to apply the alternate units specified on this tab.

If you want an alternate suffix, enter it in the field provided.

Decimal

Places

Select the number of places to show to the right of linear and angular dimension text. The following decimal places are supported.

Units

Select the alternate units from the list for both linear and angular dimensions. If User Factor is selected, enter the numeric factor to apply to all dimensions in the fields to the right of the unit selections.

File/Bundle, All Off, Toggle

All On

Standards

Sets all attributes in this form to conform to one of the following dimension standards.  Changing this option will only affect the active session.  Use the 2D tab of the VX Configuration Form to set this option for all VX sessions. This option is left blank when this form is displayed during the Edit Attributes command.  Select a standard.
