Relocate Sketch New in VX

 

Invoked ByRight mouse button (right-click)(on Sketch) go to Relocate (Part Level)

 

Relocate SketchUse this command to move a sketch to a new geometric location in the active part.  This command is similar to the  "Relocate next sketch/component/datum" option of the History Manager.  When the command is executed, the part history is replayed and then stops at the completion of the operation just prior to the operation that created the sketch.  Refer to the sequence below for more information.

 

  1. Right-click on a part sketch and select Relocate.

    The part history is replayed and then stops at the completion of the operation just prior to the operation that created the sketch.
     

  2. Select a reference plane, datum or face to define the new location for the sketch.

  3. Select the UP direction (positive Z) for the sketch plane or middle-click to use the default direction of the geometry selected in Step 2.

  4. Now select the new origin for the sketch.  The sketch is oriented with Steps 2 and 3.  This Step defines it's actual location.

    The message area should say:

    MESSAGE: All constraints and dimensions are correct.

     

Select the new origin for the relocated sketch.

  1. Replay and auto-suppress failed operationsSelect the Reply icon from the bottom of the History Manager to reply the rest of the part's history.  The sketch should be in its new location along with any features related to the sketch.
