Cone/Frustum QuickShape

Insert
Shapes (Basic) (Part Level)
Use this command to create
a Cone or Frustum QuickShape feature. You
can let the 2nd radius default to zero to create a cone or specify it
to create a frustum. The
standard Base, Add,
Remove and Intersect
methods are supported. Optionally,
you can align the cone/frustum with a plane.
Select the feature type icon. For the Add, Remove and Intersect types, the topology of the active part will be altered by the feature. The Base option is automatically selected if the active part has no shape geometry.
|
|
Base - A separate base feature will be created. Base features are used to define the initial basic shape of a part. |
|
|
Add - A shape will be created and then added to the active part. |
|
|
Remove - A shape will be created and removed from the active part. |
|
|
Intersect -A shape will be created and then intersected with the active part. |
Center -
Select the center and starting point for the cone/frustum.
The standard
point input options are available. This
point will remain fixed as the Align
Plane option (see below) is applied.
1st Radius, Length, 2nd Radius
- The 1st radius is applied about the center point (see above) and lies
on the default plane or the optional Align
Plane (see below). You
can drag or enter the exact length which is normal to the default plane.
You can let the 2nd radius default to zero for a cone or specify it
to create a frustum. The
2nd radius is applied about the length point and is parallel to the default
plane. Refer
to the figure.
Align Plane
Use this option to align
the cone/frustum with a datum plane or planar face. The
center (see figure) will remain fixed and the 1st radius of the cone/frustum
will be aligned.
