Box QuickShape
Insert
Shapes (Basic) (Part Level)

Use this
command to create a Box QuickShape
feature. This is similar to the Extrude Shape command
using a rectangular profile but this command only requires two diagonal
points. The
standard Base, Add,
Remove and Intersect
methods are supported and you can use Center
or Corner positioning. Optionally,
you can align the box with a plane and specify different X, Y and Z lengths.
Refer to
the inputs below.
Select the feature type icon. For the Add, Remove and Intersect types, the topology of the active part will be altered by the feature. The Base option is automatically selected if the active part has no shape geometry.
|
|
Base - A separate base feature will be created. Base features are used to define the initial basic shape of a part. |
|
|
Add - A shape will be created and then added to the active part. |
|
|
Remove - A shape will be created and removed from the active part. |
|
|
Intersect -A shape will be created and then intersected with the active part. |
1st Point
Select the first point to define the box. For the Center method, it's the center point. For the Corner method, it's the first corner of the box. The standard point input options are available. The first corner will remain fixed as the Optional Inputs (see below) are applied.
Center/Corner
You can position the box using a Center point or two Corner points. Select which method to use.
2nd Point
If Corner positioning is selected (see above), select the second diagonal corner point. The standard point input options are available.
Align Plane
Use this option to align
the box with a datum plane or planar face. The
1st corner (see figure) will remain fixed and the default X,Y plane of
the box will be aligned.
X Length, Y Length, Z Length
When the 2nd corner of the box is specified (see above), values for these options are supplied automatically. You can change each length independently to alter the shape of the box. Again, the 1st corner of the box remains fixed as the shape is altered.
