Use this
command at the Part Level to create a rectangle
that lies on a planar face or datum plane. There
are three methods to choose from; 2-points, 3-points and height/width.
There are
also angular and projection options.
- Create a rectangle on
a plane with two diagonal points.
- Create a rectangle on
a plane by height and width.
- Create a rectangle on
a plane with three corner points.
Plane - Select a plane to locate the rectangle on. It can be a planar part face or a datum plane.
Corner/Center - This specifies the location of the first point. It refers to the corner or center of the resulting rectangle.
1st., 2nd., 3rd. point - Select the two (or three) points to define the rectangle. Depending on the Corner/Center input above, they could be corner points or the center of the rectangle.
Height/Width - This specifies the height and width of the rectangle if the Height/Width icon above is selected.
Angle - This specifies how many degrees the rectangle should be rotated about the first point.
Rectangle/Parallelogram - This allows you to create either rectangles or parallelograms.
Project first point to frame - The first point does not have to lie on the plane. You can check this box to project the first point normal to and onto the planar face or datum plane. This option is not available if the 3 Points icon in the Required Inputs section above is selected.
