Use the CAM Component Manager to control the Component section of the CAM Plan Manager. Here’s what you can do.
Show or hide component from the display. This is similar to the Blank and Unblank Component commands at the Part Level.
Add CAM features such as profiles, pockets and holes. Features can be used to define, guide or limit tool paths.
Set material attributes for individual components.
Edit the CAM class attribute (e.g., part, stock, table, etc.) for individual components. Components are treated differently by the CAM plan depending on their CAM class attribute.
Delete a component from the active CAM plan.
Switch to the Part Level to edit a component and then return automatically to your CAM plan.


Interfacing with the CAM Component Manager
Interfacing with the CAM Component Manager is performed using standard Object Editing techniques. Right-click on a component in the CAM Plan Manager tree and select an option for the popup menu. Each option is discussed on this page.
Use these commands to show or hide a component from the setup. They will be added or removed from the display. This is similar to the Blank and Unblank Component commands at the Part Level. The icon beside the component in the manager tree will turn gray to indicate that it is hidden. You can also show/hide entire assemblies by right-clicking on them in the manager tree and selecting Show/Hide. See CAM Geometry Manager for more information.
Use this command to add CAM features to a component. You can add surface, solid, profile, pocket, hole, slot and step features. CAM features can be used to encompass regions to create tool paths for. You can also guide and limit tool paths using CAM features. Select a feature type from the popup menu and refer to the CAM Feature Manager for more information.

Use this command to set or override the material attributes for the selected CAM component. You can also use the Material Attributes Form at the Part Level by selecting Attributes > Material when the part is active.
Use this command to edit the class attribute assigned to a CAM component. Components can be designated as a part, clamp, stock, table, tool holder or attachment by selecting the desired attribute from the popup menu. Components are treated differently by the CAM plan depending on their class attribute. For example, collision detection will automatically occur if a tool comes in contact with a clamp or table.

Use this command to delete a component from the setup. Only the instance of the component is deleted and not the original part. The deleted component will be removed from the CAM Plan Manager tree.

The "Features" section of dependent tool path operations will revert to being "(undefined)" and can no longer be calculated. You can get the geometry back by selecting undo from the Tool Bar. Note that the geometry will not appear in the manager tree until the Synchronize button is s |
Use this command move to the Part

is only temporary. After
editing the part and selecting the Go up to Parent

automatically to your CAM plan.
