CAM Geometry Manager
CAM Manager
(on a Geometry)
Use the CAM Geometry Manager to control the Geometry section of the CAM Plan Manager. You can do the following.
Insert geometry consisting of individual parts or entire CAM assemblies.
Update geometry if the parts change.
Show or hide geometry in the graphics window.
Delete all CAM geometry.
Use the CAM Component Manager to perform component related
functions such as adding CAM features, editing components and changing
their class attributes. See
CAM Component Manager for more information.

Interfacing with the CAM Geometry Manager
Interfacing with the CAM Geometry Manager is performed using standard Object Editing techniques. Right-click on the Geometry section of the CAM Plan Manager tree and select an option for the pop-up menu. Each option is discussed on this page.
Use this command to insert geometry into the setup. Geometry can include parts and assemblies. Parts can be open shells (i.e., surface models) or solid models. Assemblies can include components representing the entire setup including the part to machine, the stock, table, clamps, etc. The CAM Browser will be displayed. Use it to locate and insert the shape geometry.
You can set the CAMclass attribute of each component at the Part Level using the Part Attributes Form. By doing so, the components are automatically recognized by the CAM Plan Manager when the assembly is inserted. You can also set and change the class attribute by right-clicking on the component in the manager tree and selecting Edit Class. See CAM Component Manager for more information.
References
Use this command to update all geometry in the setup. If any part or component has been modified, its instance within the setup will be updated with the latest version.
If there are CAM Features assigned, the last modification date of the CAM feature will be compared to the last change date of the appropriate part. If the part changes are newer, you are given an option to inspect and update the features before committing to the update.
You can also get a status of all feature groups by selecting Edit > CAM Regen Status > Feature Groups.

The icons beside each component or assembly in the manager tree will turn gray to indicate the component is hidden. You can also show/hide individual components by right-clicking on the component in the manager tree and selecting Show/Hide. See CAM Component Manager for more information.
Use this command to delete all geometry in the setup. Only tool paths and frames will be left. You can also delete individual components by right-clicking on the component in the manager tree and selecting Delete. See CAM Component Manager for more information.

The "Features" section of dependent tool path operations will revert to being "(undefined)" and can no longer be calculated. You can get the geometry back by selecting undo from the Tool Bar. Note that the geometry will not appear in the manager tree until the Synchronize button is selected. |
