Local Coordinate Frame

Invoked ByObject Editor (Part Level)

Local Coordinate FrameUse this command to assign a datum plane as the active local coordinate frame. Any coordinate input will be referenced relative to this frame and not the default world origin.

The Standard View commands (e,g., top, front, right,...) will adjust to a local coordinate frame.  This means that the Top View refers to the top view of the active local coordinate frame.

More about Local Coordinate Frame

A "LocalCoord" operation is logged to the active part's history during this command. Here are some tings to consider when a local coordinate frame is assigned.

Proceed with Caution!CAUTION:Changes to the local coordinate frame are tracked through the part's history. Be careful when moving or deleting the "LocalCoord" operation, or datums referenced by the "LocalCoord" operation, as it will change the way point coordinates are evaluated during a history replay.
