Use this utility to convert a sequential part or assembly to the new variational assembly 3D constraint structure. Variational assemblies were introduced in VX v6.5.

This conversion only applies to the assembly components in the active part. It does not traverse down into the sub-assembly parts. Each assembly will have to be activated and converted separately. After the conversion is complete, you will have to regenerate the assembly in order to apply the new variational constraints.

After the regen, the component alignments may solve differently and you may have to add or delete constraints to get back to your original intent. Additionally, default alignment handles defined for the active part (created prior to VX v6.5) are deleted. Use the new Alignment Handles command to recreate them. These ramifications are explained briefly prior to the conversion via a dialogue box that lets you proceed with the conversion, or cancel it. Assemblies created with VX version 6.5 and later do not have to be converted.
