PARTshaft (2D)

Use this command to open the PARTsolutions PARTshaft application. You can then create a 2D view of a range of 3D shafts and assemblies that are parametrically designed within PARTshaft.

 

You can specify the shaft dimensions and select additional components such as bearings, o-rings, seals, etc. and then insert the view of the shaft assembly as a layout view in the active VX drawing sheet. Refer to the PARTsolutions documentation about using the PARTshaft application. A valid license of PARTsolutions is required to operate this command.

 

In VX

 

  1. Pick PARTshaft from the PARTsolutions Menu to load the PARTshaft application.

 

 

In PS

 

  1. Specify the shaft elements and standard components within the shaft assembly as desired. The shaft assembly will be previewed as the components are specified.

  2. Pick the 2D View icon 4344.gif to display the 2D View window.

  3. From the 2D View window, select the view to create (e.g., Front, Rear, Right, etc.).

  4. In PARTshaft, pick the Export to CAD System icon 4321.gif.

 

PARTshaft will either collapse or exit depending which icon is selected in step 5.

 

 

In VX

 

  1. Select the view location point.

  2. Enter the view scale factor.

  3. Enter the view label.

 

The view is created in VX and displayed in the active drawing sheet.
