PARTassembly (3D)

 

Invoked ByApplications go to PARTsolutions (Part Level)

 

Use this command to open the PARTsolutions PARTassembly application. You can then select a dynamic assembly and insert it as a component in the active VX assembly. A dynamic assembly refers to one that can be altered within PARTsolutions prior to inserting it.

 

Note that an assembly is first created and added to the active VX file before the insertion occurs. Refer to the PARTsolutions documentation about using the PARTassembly application. A valid license of PARTsolutions is required to operate this command.

 

Operational Sequence

 

  1. At the Part Level, pick PARTassembly from the PARTsolutions Menu.

  1. Set any optional inputs as desired and then middle-click or pick OK from the Options Form to select an assembly to insert.

  2. Select the part group and load it into PARTassembly.

  3. Select the assembly you want to insert and modify it as desired.

  4. In PARTassembly, pick the Export to CAD System icon 4321.gif.

    PARTassembly
    will either collapse or exit depending on which icon is selected.
     

  5. In VX, select the insertion point for the new component.

Insert as sub-assembly

Check this box to insert the assembly as a sub-assembly of the active VX part.

 

Create assembly constraints

Check this box to activate the Align Component command when the part is inserted.

 

Create datum planes

Check this box to automatically create a set of default datum planes for the new assembly.

 

Plane

Use a datum plane or face to locate the component instance.
