About CAM Geometry Updated for the current release.

CAM geometry consists of components instanced into the CAM plan from actual VX part geometry. CAM components can be classified as a part, clamp, stock, or a table. The CAM Component Manager is used to create and classify CAM components from part geometry.

New in VX Clamp and Table components are assigned the Horizontal Clear distance during toolpath operations to avoid tool breakage from collisions.

A collection of similar geometric entities from a CAM component classified as a part can be assigned to a single CAM feature. CAM features can be classified as either a part or a containment. A part feature can consist of holes, pockets, steps, slots, profiles, surfaces and solids. A containment feature may consist of open or closed profiles, surfaces and solids. The CAM Feature Manager is used to create and manage feature groups.

Tips & TechniquesYou can machine an imported STL part in VX CAM using QuickMilling operations.  These parts are also supported for Solid/Rapid Verification.  However, CAM features cannot be defined for these parts.
