Install VX User Directory
Use this form to install a user directory. This directory
will contain the necessary application files to execute and operate VX.
At least one user directory per version of VX is required. Each user (even
a single user) should operate VX from a unique user directory. Each user
can also install multiple user directories.
The default
user directory is displayed. You can accept it, enter a different user
directory or pick Browse to display
the Directory
Browser to locate and select the user directory.
If you select a user directory using the Directory Browser, the path "\VXCorp\User1"
will be appended to the selected path and will be displayed in the window.
Two additional options are now available that allows
you to modify the User Directory configuration. Each
is listed below.
Install as viewer directory - Creates a minimal user directory
and the shortcut launches VX in viewer mode.
Install minimal user directory - Create a user directory that
only contains the minimal number of files necessary to run VX. It will
not copy any resource and training files.
The minimal user directory option creates a user directory that only
contains the minimal number of files necessary to run VX. It will not
copy all of the resource and training files as is done for the regular
user directory.
The viewer directory option
creates a minimal user directory with the difference that the shortcut
brings up VX in viewer mode.
When you are satisfied with the user directory, pick Next > to continue.
If
the install path does not exist, pick Yes
to create it.
The VX Installation Status Form displays the progress of the
user directory installation.
Pick
Yes or No to add a shortcut to VX to the desktop.
Make sure that the permissions are setup properly.
You can do this when you finish the installation process. Pick Continue.
