Synchronize Files
File
Manage
Session (Part Level)
This command checks all the files accessed by the active session to see if any of them have been updated (by another session) since the active session first mapped them. If so, any incremental edits to the files are deleted and the session re-maps the updated files. The names and number of files (if any) that were out-of-sync with the active session (i.e., the number of files modified since the active session started using them) are reported.
If any out-of-date file references are located, the active session will be backed up and the undo/redo data accumulated to that point is deleted in order to re-synchronize with the new files. At the time of file synchronization, if the path to the active target object passes through any objects that were read from out-of-sync files, you will be prompted to exit the active file and then execute this command again.
Each time a file is accessed for object data during a session, a check is made to see if the file has been changed while the session was using it. If so, a message is displayed informing you that the file has been changed and that you should synchronize with the new file. When you press the "Continue" button on the message window, an event is logged to force the current command to exit and to back out of the active file.
