The Tool Shape Forms are used to define the shape of the tool that is currently active in the CAM Tool Manager.  Complete each form as desired referring to the illustrations on the form for each tool type.  New in VX Note that the Tool Shape Forms are displayed automatically depending on the tool "Type" selected from the CAM Tool Manager.

When you are done, pick the close button in the upper right corner to accept and close the form or pick Reset from the CAM Tool Manager.  This will return all parameters to their previous defaults.

Tips & TechniquesDetect Tool Body Collisions

During Solid and Rapid Verify, collision detection will occur automatically with all geometry contained in the features list for the operation including the tool shoulder, tool holder/attachments and stock/fixtures.  You can also have VX CAM detect collisions with the tool body.

You can do this using the Tool Shape Form for the active tool.  Display the Tool Manager and select the tool.  Then pick Shape.  Set the Tool Length (TL) and Flute Length (FL) to the same value.  Then use the Shoulder Dia and the Shoulder Length (SL) to define the tool body above the flute.
