Sort Operations
CAM Output Manager - Organize
Tab (CAM Level)
Use the Sort Operations Form for rule-based
sorting of processes containing many operations. The sort rules that you
create will apply to the CAM
Output Manager - Organize Tab. Each
option on the form is described in detail below.
Set
the sorting mode, definition order, and then pick the save
rule button. The rule will be added to the Sort Rules list.
Use
the Sorting Rules options as desired to finalize the Sorting Rules
list.
Pick Apply Rules to apply the rules contained in the Sorting Rules list to the CAM Output Manager - Organize Tab.
Sets the mode for sorting objects.
Show
Relevant - Use this button to set the listing mode.
Show Relevant - List only relevant objects based on the object
type and subtype selected (see below).
Show All - List all objects regardless of type or subtype.
Object Type - Sets the object type for sorting. Select frame, tool, tactic, or operation from the list.

Object Subtype - Sets the object subtype for sorting based on the object type selected above. For type tool, select the tool name or type from the list. For type tactic, select the tactic name or type. For type operation, select mill-holemaking, mill-2.5 Axis mill, mill-3 Axis mill, mill-5 Axis mill, or drill from the list.
Lists the default definition order of the object type and object subtype selected above.
Add --> - Adds the object type currently selected from the Definition order list to the Selection order list.
Lists the selection order of object types you have added from the Definition order list.
<-- Remove - Removes the object type currently selected from the Selection order list.
Saves the rule and adds it to the Sort Rules list.
Lists the sorting rules in the order in which they were saved.
Move Up - Highlights the previous sorting rule in the list.
Move Dn - Highlights the next sorting rule in the list.
Delete - Deletes the highlighted sorting rule.
Edit/Inq Rule - Displays the parameters (e.g., Sorting Mode, Definition order, and Selection order) used to define the currently highlighted sorting rule.
Clear Rules - Clears (deletes) all sorting rules from the list.
Buffer
- Specifies the displacement of any unsorted operations.
Buffer - Cuts the operations and places them in the Paste
Buffer Operations List of the Process Operations Form. This is the
same as selecting the operations and then selecting Cut from the
Process Operations Form.
To start - Moves the unsorted operations to the start of the Process
Operations Form.
To end - Moves the unsorted operations to the end of the Process
Operations List in the Process Operations Form.
Hierarchical
- Specifies how the rules are applied to the Process
Operations List of the Process Operations Form.
Hierarchical - If the sorting rules are hierarchical in nature
(i.e., all taping and then all reaming operations, etc.) then this hierarchical
grouping is maintained in the Process
Operations Listof the Process Operations Form.
Sequential - All operations are listed sequentially based on the
sorting rules.
Apply Rules - Applies the sorting rules to the Process Operations List of the Process Operations Form.

Left-click selects and highlights an object type from the list.


After selecting one or more object types from the list using the left mouse button, middle or right-click to display the Object Editorpop-up menu. This menu contains functions that apply to the selected items from a list (e.g., Add, Remove, etc.).
