CAM Speed Feed Table Form

Invoked ByAll Operation Definition Forms (CAM Level)

CAM Speeds and Feeds FormSpeeds/Feeds are defined individually for each operation.  The data is referred to as a Speed/Feed table.  The table is given the same name as the operation.  By picking the Speeds Feeds button from the Parameters form for any tool path, the following form is displayed.

Speeds and Feeds provide a base Rough and base Finish rate.  These rates are used for general cutting conditions.  The other feeds/speeds types listed may be defined separately from these base rates.  You have the option of defining an explicit rate (just a number or simple equation) or defining these values as a % of the base rate.

For a finish tool path (defined in the CAM Plan Manager tree as the Operation's "class") any speed or feed value followed by the % sign (which you must type into the field after the value) will be computed from the appropriate finish or rough value.  The % sign is not accepted for the base rates because these must be absolute numbers upon which the others may depend.

Because each operation has its own Speeds/Feeds table, VX allows the values to be copied from other operations to save re-typing but allowing for customization for each operation.

Use Associations

You can create speed feed associations with Part Material, Tool, Operation Type and Operation Class.  (An Operation Class association should not be necessary but may offer a convenience for some users.)  The associations can be used to filter the Library list of Speed Feed Tables.  See CAM Speed Feed Manager for more information.
