Tool Manager Form (CAM Level)
Use the Tool
Properties Form to define the properties of the active tool. The
active tool is the tool whose name is indicated in the name input field
of the CAM Tool Manager Form at the time this form is displayed.
Complete
the form as desired or pick the Reset button from the CAM Tool Manager Form to return all properties to
their previous defaults.
When
you're done, pick the close button
to accept the tool properties
and close the form.
Pre-Req Opern - Use this field for multi-stage drilling. It allows you to specify a prerequisite operation for the active tool. For example, if the active tool is a counterbore tool, pre-drill could be selected as the prerequisite operation. The list of options includes: (1) None, (2) Center, (3) Spot-Drill, and (4) Pre-Drill. This field is only active if Drill is selected as the tool type on the CAM Tool Manager Form.
Pre-Req Tool - Use this field to specify the prerequisite tool for the prerequisite operation selected above. The CAM Object Name List is displayed with the tools currently defined. Select or create a tool from the list to use as the prerequisite tool. This field is only active if Drill is selected as the tool type on the CAM Tool Manager Form.
Material - Defines the material property of the active tool. Select a material from the list or enter a new material property. The material list includes: HSS, carbide, ceramic, Cobalt, SNT, Screw-Tap, E-Rough, E-Finish, E-2PS, E-BOR, Hanita, Epoch-21, and Miracle.
Coating - Defines the coating property of the active tool. Select a coating from the list or enter a new coating property. The coating list includes: none, TiN, diamond, zirconium, chrome, and multi.
Min Tol - Defines the minimum allowable tolerance of the active tool.
Cut Speed - Defines the cutting speed of the active tool.
Max Chip Size - Defines the maximum chip size of the active tool.
Max Cut Depth - Defines the maximum cut depth for the active tool.
Coolant
- Defines the coolant type used for the active tool. Pick the button and
select flood, mist or off from the list. You can
override this coolant type when you output tool paths using the Document tab of the CAM
Output Manager Form. M
code output for coolant is supported for the FlexPost
post-processor and are as follows:
M7 - Mist coolant on
M8 - Flood coolant on
M9 - Coolant off
Tool Life - Defines the life of the active tool.
Cut Dirn - Defines the cut direction of the active tool. Select a cut direction from the list. The choices include: CW, CCW, or both.
