CAM Object Export Options

Use this form to set options for exporting CAM object libraries to an ASCII delimitated SQL format text file. For CAM tool libraries you can select the tool type. You can also specify the field delimitor type, choose to export field keywords, and select from additional detailed options. Refer to the sequence and table below.

 

  1. If you are exporting the CAM tool library, pick the Tool Type button and select the tool type to export.

  2. Select the field delimitor type.

  3. Pick Yes or No to export field keywords.

  4. For additional field keyword options, pick the More options button to display the CAM Library Export Detailed Options Form.

  5. Pick OK to display the File Browser.

  6. In the File Browser, specify a file name to export to (e.g., tool_library_1.txt) and then pick Open to export the CAM library.

  7. Pick Yes or No to show the export report.

Tool Type

If you are exporting the active CAM tool library, pick this button and then select the tool type within the library to export (e.g., mill, flame, ream, bore, tap, drill, counterbore, countersink, or center).

 

Field delimitor

Specifies the character to use for field delimitors within the ASCII file. Select comma, tab, or other. If other is selected, enter the character in the space provided.

 

Export Field Keywords

Yes

Pick yes or no to export the field keywords. The field keywords represent the property names located on the appropriate CAM manager form buttons (e.g., name, class, type, subtype, etc of the Tool Manager Form). If you pick yes, the first row of ASCII text in the output file will contain the field keywords from the CAM object class selected above (e.g., Machines, Tools or Speed/Feeds).

 

More Options

Displays the CAM Library Export Detailed Options Form for additional field keyword options.

 

 

Other Options

 

OK

Accepts all export options and displays the File Browser.

 

  1. In the File Browser, specify a file name to export to (e.g., tool_library_1.txt).

  2. Pick Done, from the File Browser to export the CAM library to the specified file.

 

Reset

Resets the form to the system default settings or the options that were active that last time the OK button was picked.

 

Cancel

Cancels the Export CAM Library function and closes the form.
