Trace Profiles
Insert (Sketch Level)
Use these commands to trace a profile around existing interconnecting sketch geometry. You can create, offset or delete trace profiles.
This command create a trace profile from existing
sketch geometry. Trace profiles are handy when you want to use only a
specified perimeter (profile) of interconnecting geometry as the basis
of the sketch.
The Trace profile is parametrically constrained to the underlying geometry. The underlying sketch geometry however is ignored and not used to drive features. Specify a point to begin the trace profile.
This command offsets an existing trace profile. Select the trace profile to offset. Then specify the offset distance. A positive value creates an outer offset while a negative value creates an inner offset.

This command deletes
a trace profile in the active sketch. Select a trace profile to delete.
Single curve - Check this box to select a single curve. Otherwise a chain of curves are selected.

Ignore intersections - Check this box to make the nonstop. Otherwise it will stop when it reaches an intersection.

Keep original trace - Use this option to keep or discard the original geometry.
Insert arc at concave corner - Insert a full arc at the concave corners of each connecting line or curve.
Side - Use this
option to specify that one or both sides of the trace profile are to be
offset. If One is selected, the offset value will determine the
offset direction. A positive value creates an outer offset while a negative
value creates an inner offset.
Both - Offset both sides of the trace profile.
One - Offset the side of the trace profile determined by the offset
distance value.
