Move/Copy Entities (2D)
Edit (Sketch/Sheet Level)
![]()
Use these commands to move
or copy sketch/drawing sheet entities from one point to another. You can
use the Options Form to specify direction, rotate angle, and scaling
factor. Be
sure to read the Notes section
below for important considerations.

Entities - Select the entities to be moved.
From point - Specify a reference point from which to move.
To point - Specify a destination point.
Copies - If Copy is selected (see above) enter the number of copies to make.
Direction
- Use this option to set the method used for determining the move/copy
direction. Select from the following:
Two Points - The direction is determined by two points. The second
point's relation to the first point defines the direction.
Horizontal - The direction will be constrained horizontal.
Vertical - The direction will be constrained vertical.
Angle - Rotate entities during the copy.
Scale - Scale entities during the copy.
The locations of all constraints (if any) associated with the moved geometry are recalculated.
When moving a view on a drawing sheet, make sure the “View”filter is checked. Otherwise, you're just moving the entities in the view and not the view itself. A regen will then cause the view to be recreated as it was originally.
