Geometry Groups (2D)
Edit
Groups (Drawing Sheet Level)
Use these commands at the Drawing Sheet Level to group geometry. Groups can be nested to contain other groups. You can select the geometry to group or clip portions of geometry. You can also add to groups and explode them back to their individual geometry.
Groups are useful for combining large amounts of drawing data into a single entity such as title blocks and drawing borders.
This command creates a group from geometry or other groups. Select the geometry or groups to group and then enter a name for the group.
This command creates a group by clipping part
of the drawing sheet. The clipped geometry will be copied to the group
at a specified location leaving the original geometry unchanged.
Required Inputs

Circle, Rectangle - This
sets the type of clipping boundary. Select
the Circular or Rectangular
icon.
Boundary - Defines the boundary of the geometry to group. For Circle, select the center and diameter points. For Rectangle, select two diagonal points.
Location - Specify where on the drawing sheet to locate the group.
Name - Enter a name for group.
Optional Inputs
Scale - This sets the scale factor for the group geometry.
Draw Boundary Curve - During the Clip and Group command, check this box if you want the circular or rectangular boundary to be drawn and included with the group.
This command adds geometry or groups to an existing group. First select the entities to add to the group and then select the group to add them to.
This command explodes a group to gain access to the geometry it contains. If the group contains nested groups, they will not be exploded.
