Clear File Edits

Use this command to clear (delete) file edits from the active session. Once a file's edits have been cleared, they cannot be restored unless they were part of a session back up that is still active (i.e., the save was not removed during a recent Clear Session command). The active file must be closed before it can be cleared from the active session.

 

Tips & TechniquesThis is an advanced session management function. It is only available when the Enable session management option on the VX Configuration Form is set to Yes. It is recommended that you become familiar with basic VX operations before using the advanced session management features.

 

Proceed with Caution!CAUTION: Since sessions only contain incremental edits to files, only those edits made since the last Save File, Save All Files, or Save Session As are deleted. If the files are new to the session and none of these save commands or the Backup Session command mentioned above were performed, then the files will no longer exist anywhere.

 

Once a file's edits have been cleared they cannot be restored with the Undo command. Also, when you clear a file from the active session, the undo/redo history for the entire session is restarted. You will not be able to undo/redo any prior operations in any of the other files in the session.

 

Files previously saved with the Save File command are unaffected by this command. Only modifications made to the file during the active session will be deleted. 2165.gif
 

Information about VXOperational Sequence

 

  1. Select a file to clear from the Edited Files List.

  2. Pick OK or double-left-click on the file to clear the file or Cancel to close the list.

  3. Pick Yes or No to confirm that the file should be cleared.

 

Tips & TechniquesYou can clear multiple files without having to re-execute this command by double-left - clicking the files you want cleared. This will clear the file, but leave the list displayed so you can remove other files.
