Dynamic Viewing

 

Dynamic View consists of a group of functions that work in conjunction with your 3-button mouse and function keys to dynamically pan, zoom and rotate your part, sketch or drawing sheet.  Dynamic View is transparent so it can be used at any time without interrupting the active command.  Refer to the topics below for information about each function and how they are used for dynamic viewing.

Toggles Dynamic View on and off.  The following functions are available while Dynamic View is On.  Dynamic View is also turned automatically using the Function Keys F2, F3 and F4 (see below).

 

 

Information about VX Dynamic Pan

 

Invoked ByTool Bargo toDynamic Viewinggo toLeft mouse button (left-click)

 

Dynamic PanRelocates the current view.  The current zoom and rotation are not changed.  After Dynamic View is turned on, move the cursor to the start point, press and hold the left mouse button, and drag the view to a new location.

 

 

Information about VX Dynamic Zoom

 

Invoked ByTool Bargo toDynamic Viewinggo toMiddle mouse button (middle-click)

 

Dynamic ZoomZooms in or out on the current view about the point on the screen where the middle mouse button is initially pressed.  The current pan and rotation are not changed.  After Dynamic View is turned on, press and hold the middle mouse button and drag left to zoom out or right to zoom in.

 

 

Information about VX Dynamic Rotate

Dynamic RotateRotates the current view.  The current pan and zoom are not changed.  After Dynamic View is turned on, press and hold the right mouse button and drag in a circular motion to rotate the view about the current View Origin, View Axis or Display Axis, which ever is currently active (see below).

 

 

View Origin (Ctrl+1) (F2) View Origin (Ctrl+1) (F2)

 

Invoked ByView go to Set Origin

 

View Origin (Ctrl+1) (F2)Sets a new view origin.  Dynamic View uses the view origin as a base point for rotations.  The default view origin is the world origin.  Select View Set Origin or pick the Tool Bar icon shown and select a point to set the view origin.  Once set, you can press the F2 key to activate Dynamic Rotate (see above) about the view origin.

 

 

There is no icon for this command View Axis (F3)

 

Invoked ByView go to Set Axis

 

0233.gifSets a new view axis.  Dynamic View uses the view axis as a base line for rotations.  The default view axis is the world Z axis.  Select View Set Axis and select an axis (or direction) to set the view axis.  Once set, you can press the F3 key to activate Dynamic Rotate (see above) about the view axis.

 

 

There is no icon for this command Display Axis (F4)

 

Invoked ByView go to Set Axis

 

Display Axis (F4)An imaginary axis extending perpendicular to and at the center of the current modeling window.  The display axis cannot be changed.  Press the F4 key to activate Dynamic Rotate (see above) about the display axis.
