Open Session
Use this command to create a new VX session or reopen a session previously saved using the Save Session As command. When you reopen an existing session, you are working with the incremental file edits made when the session was last saved. When a session is opened, it is locked from other users. Refer to the Notes section below.

In the input field of the Sessions List (not shown) enter the name of the new session or select a session from the list. If a new name is entered, a new session will be created, otherwise the existing session will be activated for editing.
Pick OK
(or press the <enter> key)
to open the session or Cancel to close the list.
When a session
is opened it is also locked so that another instance of VX cannot try
to begin editing the same session which can easily corrupt data. When
you exit VX the lock on the session is released. If
VX is prematurely aborted (e.g. a system crash or Ctrl+C), the lock file
remains in the session directory. If
VX is restarted with an active lock on the session data associated with
the user directory from which VX was invoked, the
following message is displayed:
The active VX user directory is flagged as in-use.
This may be due to a premature exit from the last VX session.
True simultaneous use of the same work area could corrupt it.
Do you want to continue ?
Yes - the lock is overridden, at your own risk.
No - VX exits gracefully.
The name of the file used to lock a session is "SessionInUse".
