Sheet Metal Louver
Sheet Metal Tool
Tab
Use this command to create one or more louver
features in a sheet metal part. The
louver(s) can
be placed on any flat face including flanges and will extend in the direction
of the face. The
required inputs include the planar face the louver will be located on
and the sketch profile (i.e., the sketched line as shown in the figure
below).
The optional inputs include the dimensional parameters of the louver as shown in the Options Form below, the ability to flip the louver about the profile sketch and the ability to assign a unique name to the feature if desired.
The
default width and height values initially shown in the Options Form
are based on the material thickness and the two radii R1 and R2.
Plane
Select a flat planar face to place the louver on.
Profile
Select a sketched line or lines defining the louver center
break(s) or
middle-click to Create a Feature Sketch.
The sketch represents the center break line(s) of the louver(s). Refer to the figure above. More than one louver can be created at a time by including multiple break lines in the sketch. The sketch can be located on the louver face or its opposite face. As you move the cursor over the sketch, a preview echo of the louver(s) will be displayed. You can use the Optional Inputs section of this form tochange the louver parameters and the preview echo
H - The height measured from the selected face to the outside face of the louver.
A - The side angle measured from the selected face.
R1 - The top inner radius around the perimeter height of the louver.
R2 - The base radius around the outer perimeter of the louver and tangent to the selected face.
W - The width measured from the sketch line to the tangent of the base radius (R1) around the outer perimeter of the louver.
Flip louver 180 degrees - Check this box to flip the louver 180 degrees about the sketch line. Refer to the preview echo when this box is checked.
