Sheet Metal Dimple
Sheet Metal Tool
Tab
Use this command to create one or more raised
dimple features in a sheet metal part. The
dimple(s) can
be placed on any flat face including flanges and will extend in the direction
of the face. The
dimple feature will be governed by the settings defined in the Options
Form. This
command will also work on parts created with the Shell Solid command.

Plane
Select a flat planar face to place the dimple.
Profile
Select the sketch defining the dimple perimeter or middle-click to Create a Feature Sketch.
This command will only accept a closed sketch with one or more tangent continuous loops (i.e., all corners are filleted). The sketch represents the flat perimeter on the outside of each dimple. Multiple loops will produce multiple dimples. Refer to the figure below. The sketch can be located on the dimpled face or its opposite face. As you move the cursor over the sketch, a preview echo of the dimple(s) will be displayed. You can use theOptional inputs below to change the dimple parameters and the preview echo.
H - The height measured from the selected face to the outside face of the dimple.
A - The side angle measured from the selected face.
R1 - The inner radius around the perimeter height of the dimple.
R2 - The outer radius around the perimeter of the dimple and tangent to the selected face.
