Inquire File List
Inquire (Part/Packet/Sheet Level)
This command traverses the target object (i.e., the active part , assembly, packet or sheet) and displays a list of the files that contain objects associated with it. For parts, this includes files containing assembly components, files recorded by the Link Manager and files referenced by the translator import feature.
For drawing sheets, it includes files that reference 3D parts
(and their components) referenced by drawing views. For
drawing packets, it includes all drawing sheets in the drawing packet
as well as files associated with 3D views in the drawing sheets. Files
preceded by a pound sign (#) are ignored.
Use the Copy, Zip or other text editing options shown below.
Pick Cancel to close the list.
Copy...
This option allows you to copy the files to a destination
directory.
Type the directory into the
text input field or select the file folder icon
to select using the Directory Browser.
Pick Copy To and the files will copied to the directory specified.
Zip...
Selecting this option will prompt you to specify the name of a destination zip file. All of the files displayed in the File List window are copied and archived into this "*.zip" file. The file is created if it doesn't already exist. Otherwise, the files are appended to it. This option is handy for archiving all files in an assembly into one file for transport. Files preceded by a pound sign (#) are ignored.
Files that only exist in the active session (i.e. that have not been saved yet) are prefixed with a pound sign (#) and are not copied using the Copy To option. If a file has been edited by the active session, the path of the file is displayed in the file list.
The Files List allows text editing so that you can add or delete paths before executing the Copy To option. You can also cut/paste to/from the window for purposes of including the files in a script or general file management utility.
Highlight text, right-click, and select one of the text editing options shown above.
