Insert Existing Sheet
Insert (Drawing Packet Level)
Use this command to insert an instance of an existing drawing sheet into the active drawing packet and activate it for editing. The sheet may originate from any file and instanced by more than one drawing packet. When the sheet is activated for editing, the original is modified and the sheet instance is updated.
It is important to note that there is only one original drawing
sheet and that the instance is only a reference to it. Thus,
if the original drawing sheet is modified, all instances of it are also
modified. This
is similar to inserting a component into an assembly.
Select a drawing sheet to instance from the Object Browser.
Enter
a name for this instance or middle-click to accept the current name of
the drawing sheet.
The original drawing sheet is activated for editing.
Currently there is no automatic way to replace a drawing sheet instance with a copy. This may be desired if you want to make changes to the instance and not change the original. To do this, activate the original drawing sheet and copy its contents using the Copy to 2D Clipboard command. Then, create a new drawing sheet using the New Drawing Sheet command and paste the contents into the new drawing sheet. You can use the Delete Drawing Sheet command to delete the drawing sheet instance without deleting the original drawing sheet.
