The Object Level

When you create a new VX file or open a file you are moved to the object level.  It is important that you remember this level.  This is where all new root objects (e.g., parts, drawing packets, CAM plans, etc.) are created or existing ones are activated for editing.

Tips & TechniquesReactivate Parent ObjectWherever you are in VX, selecting the Go up to Parent Object icon from the Tool Bar repeatedly will return you to the Object Level.

The figure below shows the VX display at the object level.  The Root Object Browser shows the current root objects in the active file and can be used to create or activate root objects.  Options are provided for working with root objects such as New, Edit, Rename, Delete, etc.  You can also right-click in the graphics window and select a root object type to create from the Object Editor menu or select from the Insert Menu.
