Create Extruded Stock
Insert
Features
Use this command to create an extruded stock
feature that completely encloses a single face or the entire shape of
the active part. The
required inputs include the shape(s)
to enclose and a reference plane to orient the stock. By
default, the size of the stock equals the extents of the shape.
The optional inputs include the ability to specify the exact
size of the stock, additional plus/minus modifiers, an incremental step
size value and the ability to assign a unique name to the feature if desired.
If the
extent of the part changes, the stock feature will adapt accordingly during
the next regen of the part's history.

Shapes
Select the face or shapes to enclose.
Plane
Select a reference plane to orient the stock. It can be a datum plane, a planar face, or a sketch. The preview echo will show the stock feature.
Length (X), Length (Y), Length (Z)
If you set the Side increment (see below), these fields will dynamically update with the new stock dimensions. If you set the side increment to 0 (zero), the actual dimensions of the part (i.e., part extents) are displayed.
You can also enter an exact size for either of the Length (X), Width (Y) or Height (Z) of the stock by changing the value in one or all of these fields. However, once a field is overwritten, it is "fixed" and will no longer dynamically update.
+ / -
You can enter a value in these fields to add or remove a fixed amount of stock from one or more of the X,Y or Z dimensions.
Side increment
An increment (i.e., step size) may be specified so that all lengths will be rounded up to a multiple of this size. If for example, your standard stock sizes run in 10 mm increments, you can use this field to round up to the nearest standard size.
