Ruled Face
Insert
Shape (Basic)
![]()
Use this command to create
a ruled face with linear cross-sections between two path curves. The
required inputs include the two path curves. The
optional inputs include using a spine curve and the ability to give the
feature a unique name if desired.
1st path, 2nd path
Select the first and second path curves.
As
you pass the cursor over candidates for the second path curve, the resulting
face will echo on the screen.
Spine
Select a spine curve. By using a spine curve, the face is created by moving an infinite plane normal to and from the start to the end of the spine curve. The face is only created where the infinite plane intersects the spine curve and both path curves.
You can right-click and select Make Curve List to make a parametric list of existing curves to use as input for this command.
