Arc
(Sketch/Sheet
Level)
Use this command at the sketch and sheet level
to create arcs using a variety of methods. You
can create through, radius, center and angle arcs with this command. Refer
to each method below.
Use this method
to create an arc by defining its start and end points and a third point
that the arc passes through. You can drag the through point to create
an arc clockwise (CW) or counterclockwise (CCW) from the start point.
The arc will initially drag CCW between the start and end points.
Use this method to create an arc by defining its end
points and radius. The arc is created counterclockwise (CCW) from the
start point.
Required
Inputs
1st point - Select the start point.
2nd point - Select the end point.
Radius - Specify the arc radius.
Location - Select from the two possible arc segments.
Use this method to create an arc by defining its center,
start, and end points.
Select the center point.
Select a point on the plane of the new arc.
Select a second point on the
plane of the new arc.
These three points define the plane on which the arc will lie.
Select the start point or enter the Rad/Dia (see below )of the arc.
If you selected a start point, select the end point, enter the swept angle, or select a curve to extend to. If you entered the Rad/Dia of the arc, specify the start angle measured CCW from the axis defined by the center point and the first point on the plane of the new arc.
Use this method to create an arc by defining its center,
radius, start angle and arc angle.
Select the center point.
Enter or drag the desired arc radius.
Specify the start angle of the arc measured from the x-axis (CCW).
Specify the swept angle of the arc measured from the start (CCW).
Optional Inputs
(Arc (2D) Methods)
Use designer arcs
- Check this box to use a designer arc instead of a traditional circular
arc. A
designer arc is a NURB curve that matches the tangency of the arc but
has zero curvature at the end points. See Applying
VX CAD - Using Designer Arcs for more information.
Location - Select a new location point for the arc.
Clockwise - This will define the arc in a clockwise direction.
Counter - This will define the arc in a counter-clockwise direction.
