Sew non-associative

See also: Sew associative

Menu access: Curve | Other operations | Sew

Description:

Allows you to sew curves with a specific tolerance without keeping the associativity with the original profiles.

General philosophy:

  1. Select on the  NON ASSOCIATIVE  button.

  2. Configure the different options of the dialog box and validate.

  3. Select the curves to sew by using the icon .

  4. Set the tolerance.

Available Option(s) :

You can delete or not the initial curves using the delete curves option.

You can take in consideration for the sewing only the curves belonging to a plane using the working plane option. The plane to use will be asked.

You can project the result on a plane you define afterwards.

You can add constraints for the sewing of curves with different attributes. The sewing will be made only to the curves with the same attributes (color, linetype and/or layer.

You can choose the resulting curves you keep. For example, if you tick "Return closed curves", all the curves that do not give a closed curve after sewing will not be sown.

The gaps between two extremities can be filled either by extending the curves or adding lines in the gap but also by adjusting the curve geometry ( For example, the extremity of an original line will be move to the extremity of an other line before the sewing)

If you set markers to the ends, small circles are added at the extremities of the resulting curves.

If you activate the recognize result curves, TopSolid will try to rebuild a re-passing contour with fillet recognition. This option is the equivalent to the function "Curve | Manage | Rebuild" function

After the sewing, you have the possibility to "examine curves". This question is made to help the user to see which curves have been sewn together. By passing the mouse on the curves, the different resulting curves are highlighted.

Specific point(s):

If you select a single curve to sew, TopSolid will automatically select all the connected curves.

The tolerance value defines at the same time:
