Planar sections

Menu access: Curve | Other curves | Planar sections

Description:

Allows you to create planar sections of a shape. This function created grouped curves.

The sections are computed in a plane set that can be parallel to a reference plane or normal to a curve.

General philosophy:

  1. Define the reference plane.

  2. Enter the number of sections you want and the starting and end Z values for this planar sections computation.

  3. Select the shape to create sections on.

Example(s):

Available Option(s) :

The option  Follow= EXISTING OPERATIONS  or  SUBSEQUENT OPERATIONS  allows you to define the associativity level of the sections.

The  REFERENCE CURVE  button allows you to distribute planes normal to a curve. Planes will be distributed along the arc length of the curve.

You can then choose to set the reference curve invisible or not using the option   Hide curves= YES  or  NO .

You can use the button  THROUGH POINT  to select a passing point for the plane and a reference plane (or planar face) to set the orientation of the plane trough this point.

Specific point(s):

The starting Z and ending Z are given from the reference plane. The values can be positive or negative.

Available modification(s):

Using the icon , you can modify all the parameters of the planar sections.
