Lines by 2 points

Back to "Lines menu" page.

Menu access: Curve | Other curves | Lines | Lines by 2 points

Description:

Creation of a line ended by a point or a curve on each extremity.

General philosophy:

  1. Select the first point or curve.

  2. Select the second point or curve.

Available Option(s) :

When you select a curve as reference element, a contact angle value is used. You can change this value in the following cell:

The default value is 0° or 90°; according to the selected zone on the curve and the mouse position.

The  FACE  button allows you to give a starting or ending face.

The line is created on the current coordinate system, so the reference face must intersect it.

Example(s):

Lines between two points.

  Lines between a point and a line:

a : 90° of angular constraint.

b : 80° of angular constraint (side function of the point selection).

  Lines between a line (90° of angular constraint) and a circle:

a : 90° of angular constraint

b : 0° of angular constraint (side function of the point selection).

Lines between two circles.

Line between a point and a face.

Line between two faces.

Specific point(s):

Caution, if you set an angular constraint on each extremity of the line, you must be sure that:

Available modification(s):

The icon allows you to change the contact angle on the side where the line has been selected.

The icon allows you to move the line or one of its extremities.
