Extend
Menu access: Curve | extend
Description:
Allows you to extend a curve.
![]()
General philosophy:
Select the curve on the side to extend.
Available Option(s) :
You can modify the extension length.
You can choose the extension mode
with the option Mode
= EXTEND LENGTH / TOTAL LENGTH .
The option
allows
you to choose the way to extend the curve:
CURVATURE: the curve curvature is constant.
TANGENT: the segment is tangent to the curve.
EXACT: take in consideration the lasts points, the inflexion point and the curvature to extend the curve.
Example(s):

a- Curvature extend.
b- Tangent extend.
Specific point(s):
When using the EXACT
mode, the real length of the extension
is approximately
the one given by the user, except
for a line or an are of which the value is exactly respected.
When the curvature has an undefined
radius, the curvature option has no effect (i.e.: on a line).
Limitation(s):
It's impossible to extend a closed
curve.
