Division using length
Menu access: Curve | Other curves | Division
Description:
Allows to divide a curve in several parts by using various methods.
The division creates new curves. The original one is kept.
![]()
General philosophy:
Select the "length" mode (first picture).
Select the curve(s) to divide.
Select the starting point of the division.
Set the number of instances (and the distance if you are using the "mark out" mode).
Available option(s):
It is possible to set the associativity
level between the original curve and the curves that result from the division
by using the option Follow=
SUBSEQUENT OPERATIONS or
EXISTING
OPERATIONS .

The option Curves=
INVISIBLE or
VISIBLE
allows
you to hide or not the original curve after the division.
There are two distribution modes:
Distribution mode = DISTRIBUTE : n instances along the curve from the starting point.
Distribution mode = MARK OUT : n instances with a division angle measured from the focal point.
In
MARK OUT mode, the option
allows you to choose the way the distance will be computed.![]()
Example(s):
Original curve.
The red point represent the starting point of the division.

Division using the "MARK OUT" mode and the "ARC LENGTH" computation mode.
Number = 3 . Distance = 20

Specific point(s):
If the last part of the original
curve is to small to be divided with the given distance or angle, it is
not taken in account and do not appear in the resulting curves.
Available modification(s):
By using the icon
,
you can modify:
The distance computation mode.
The instance number.
The distance.
