Contour - Turning
Menu access: Curve | Contour
Description:
Creation of a contour for turned shape around the X axis of the coordinate system through specific features.
![]()
General philosophy :
Click on the button TURNING .
Select the starting point of the contour.
Use the different features of the dialog box to create step by step your contour (See "Available option(s) for details).
Use the button OK to validate the creation of each part of the contour.
Once the contour finished, click on the button STOP to end and close automatically the contour..
Example:

Available option(s):
The dialog box has 6 different features:
|
|
Cylinder: creation of a segment driven by a diameter and a length or a diameter and a final X abscise. |
|
|
Cone with one diameter: Creation of a segment driven by an angle and a length or an angle and a final diameter or an angle and a final X abscise. |
|
|
Cone with two diameters: Creation of a segment driven by an initial diameter, a final diameter and a length or a final X abscise or an angle |
|
|
Torus: Creation of an arc driven by an initial diameter, a final diameter, a radius and a length or a final X abscise |
|
|
Length dimensions origin: Allows to define a fix point (instead of the extremity of the last created segment) for the length measure. This feature has no effect on the X abscise value. When an origin has been defined, it is indicated by a red circle. The button NON FIXED ORIGIN allows to come back to the usual length measurement. |
|
|
X+ or X- direction : Allows to modify the direction of the line drawing. |
According to the contour you created,
when you end its creation TopSolid suggest you several way to close the
contour. Click on the one you want.
The button OPEN STOP allows to keep the contour as it is without closing it.
Specific point(s):
The starting
point must be defined on Y+ (above the X axis).
The diameter measure is made from
the X axis of the current coordinate system.
The default value given in the diameter
cell correspond with the position of the starting point and then with
the extremity of the last created segment.
