Chamfer
Menu access: Curve | Chamfer
Description:
Allows you to create chamfers on a contour.
![]()
General philosophy:
Enter the first length.
Enter the chamfer angle
Select the contour near the vertex to chamfer.
Confirm the chamfer creation by using the COMPUTE CHAMFER(S) button.
Available Option(s) :
The Mode=
GLOBAL or
LOCAL
option
allows you to create the same chamfer on all vertices of the selected
contour within a single operation. In order to do that you need to use
the global option.![]()
The SECOND
LENGTH button
allows you to give a second length instead of an angle. Then you can use
the SAME
LENGTH button
to create a regular chamfer by using the same parameter as the fist length.
Example(s):

Specific point(s):
The first chamfer length is applied
on:
The selected segment of the contour in local mode,
The segment preceding the vertex depending on the contour direction in global mode.
All chamfer with same values created
together will share the same parameter. That means if you modify one of
these radiuses, all will be modified. It is the same for the ones created
using the global mode.
You can make several chamfer with
different dimensions before validate their creation with the COMPUTE
CHAMFER(S) button.
You can create a
chamfer integrated to a contour (it is part of the contour and
not an added operation) by using
and click near a contour
edge (idem for fillet).
Available modification(s):
By using the
icon afterwards, you can:
Change the chamfer parameters.
Extract the selected chamfer from the curve.
