Trimming volume

Description :

Allows you to modify an existing main view (of an assembly) in a way that the result is a partial projection of this assembly.

This is made through a volume that represent the zone to consider for the projection.

General philosophy :

When making conception of big assembly, it may be useful the project only a detail of this assembly.

To do that, you first have to create, in the 3d document, the volume enclosing the zone you want to project.

Then, you can :

• either modify an existing view (by using this function),

• or, when projecting the assembly (by using the function View | Main view).

Example:

On the above example, the green volume has been set as trimming volume.

And here is the result after projection of this assembly when using this trimming volume.

Specific point(s):

This function is not made for the creation of cut out isometric view because it is not possible to modify the line type of the trimming limit.
