Revolved section

Menu access : View | Revolved section

Description :

Creates a revolved section view from an existing view.

General philosophy :

  1. Select the reference view.

  2. Select the section line to use or click on  CONTOUR  to create it.

  3. Then choose between :

  4. Select the reference element to be use to turn down the section (see "available options" for details)

  5. Confirm with  OK .

  6. Position the view.

Available option(s):

The button  BY TWO POINTS  allows you to draw a line by two points in order to use it as cutting line.

You can change the letter used in the cross section line and its text height by using the following options:

 Cross section line name=             and   Text height=          .

The reference element is used to define around which axis the section must be turned. You can use the  POINT  button to select a point in the 3D document and use it as rotation axis for the section.

You can choose to align the section view relatively to its reference view by using the option :

 Alignment= YES  or  NO

When the section view is not aligned you can set it upright with :

 Set the section view upright= YES  or  NO

Use the  IN PLACE  option to superpose the revolved section on the reference view.

Specific point(s) :

If the document contains only one view, the selection of the reference view is not required.

To use the axis of a circle (or an arc) as section line, simply click on the circle for its axis to appear. You can now select it.
