Description:

Makes the projection of 3D shapes (from a given direction) into the current drafting document.

General philosophy:

  1. Select the part(s) to project (in the TopSolid document).

  2. Set the options of the dialog box and confirm.

  3. Position the projected view in your TopDraft document.

Available option(s):

You can choose to project the curves by using the option  Project curves= NO  or  YES .

The  EXPLORE  button allows you to open a document having the part you want to project.

The  ASSEMBLY  button allows you to project in one time all elements from an assembly. It is strongly recommended to define an assembly only with shapes, components and repetitions.

The  LIKE A VIEW  button allows you to create a new view from elements already projected in an existing view. That save you selecting a second time the elements in the TopSolid document.

The  NO ELEMENT  button allows you to get an empty view in order to define a model document. This preset model have to be saved in the directory ...\config\template.

The option  Follow= EXISTING OPERATIONS  or  SUBSEQUENT OPERATIONS  allows you to set the associativity level of the 2d view with the 3d document.

Once you selected the elements to project, the following dialog box appear, allowing you to set the projection parameters.

The descriptions of the options are here:

Specific point(s):

A perspective view is a main view.

The projection keeps the B-spline curves of the 3D shapes. If you want these curves to be converted into curves made of lines and arcs after the projection, you must tick the option "Rebuild projected B-splines" in the file properties (projection parameters) or in the "Tool | Options" menu.

If you activate this option, it may be a small difference between the projected curves and the ones defined by the 3D model. This mode may also lightly increase the projection calculation time.
