Local cross section

Menu access : View | Local cross section

Description :

Allows to locally create cross section using a curve as limit.

General philosophy :

  1. Select the reference view..

  2. Pick the limit curve of the cross section or use  CONTOUR  to create it. The contour had to be a closed curve.

  3. Pick the reference element defining the cross section depth.

Example(s) :

Available option(s):

The  POINT  button allows you to select a point in the 3D document or a projected point in a 2D view (stemming from the projection of a point of the 3D document).

Specific point(s) :

If the document contains only one view, the selection of the reference view is not required.

The limit curve have to be closed, you can use contours or curves.

For element who don't have to be cut, use the  DIVISIBLE  option of the Attribute | Properties function to declare them as non divisible.

It is possible to set the attributes of the local section border, in Tools | Options "Drafting view - Attributes - Trimming curve".

Possible modification(s) :

You can change the limit curve by moving it's control points with the Edit/Move function.

The Edit/Modify element allows to change the projection parameters of the reference view or the cutting curve.
