Background bitmap

Menu access: Tools | Background bitmap

Description:

Allows to include a bitmap on a plan or a planar face.

General philosophy:

  1. Choose the bitmap file to include.

  2. Choose the bitmap positioning coordinate system or pick a planar face or curve.

  3. Select the X axis that define the bitmap orientation

  4. Set the image size and the centering options.

  5. Confirm with the  OK  button.

Specific point(s):

This function allows to include a bitmap in order to draw on quickly, for this reason the graphic echo has been de-activated. You can modify it by editing the set of bitmap in the symbolic tree.

A background bitmap applied on a planar face of a part is not an operation made on this part, it will not displayed in the part's drafting document. See Shape | Other operations | Apply coating function for this.

In realistic mode, a background bitmap can also be set with File | Properties - Rendering options function.

Limitation(s):

The included bitmap cannot be visualized with TopSolid'Viewer.
