The insertion cursor

Presentation :

The insertion cursor is represented by a red arrows followed by two values :

The insertion cursor allows you to display the part at different steps in its design, you just have to pick the cursor and drag it to the desired operation. You can also choose the "Modify" function in the contextual menu that appears when you click with the right mouse button on the cursor.

Option

Description

TOP

to go directly to the top of the tree.

UP

to go to the operation above the cursor.

DOWN

to go to the operation below the cursor.

BOTTOM

to go to the bottom of the tree.

Insertion operation

to locate the cursor by picking on an operation (the cursor will be located above the picked operation).

All the operations located above the cursor will be hidden (displayed in thin characters) and the part will be displayed at an anterior step in comparison of the final part. Then you will be able to create an operation that will be inserted at the cursor position.

When a document contains one (or several) element(s) on which the insertion cursor have been pulled down, a ! character is displayed in its banner.

Application example :

Symbolic tree

Result

Let's take a simple part (shelled block) with its associated symbolic tree

We want to add a fillet to the external edges of the part and automatically report them on internal edges.

First, we hide the shell operation by pulling down the insertion cursor...

And we create fillets on the block edges...

Then, when we move the cursor up, the shell operation uses the block with fillets...
