Menu access : Sheet metal | Generate flat pattern
Description :
Allows you to realize the unfolded of a sheet metal part.

General philosophy :
Select the face which will be used as reference face for the unfolded (the reference face is the face which does not turn during the unfolding).
Click on VALID to create the unfolded in the current coordinate system or select the destination coordinate system. The coordinate system can be situated in a new document.
Available option(s) :
The EXPLORE
button allows to open the document which contains the sheet metal part
in order to get the flat pattern into the current document.
You have the choice between 2 modes
:
Follow=SUBSEQUENT OPERATIONS, a new operation done on the sheet metal part will be reported on the flat pattern too.
Follow=EXISTING OPERATIONS, a new operation done on the sheet metal part will not be reported on the flat pattern.
The NEW DOCUMENT
button allows to create a new document which will contains the flat pattern,
you will have to pick a point or select a coordinate system to create
the flat pattern. In this case, if the Copy general
information of template document is set to YES,
the information entered using "File
| Properties - General informations"are copied in the new
document.
The UNFOLDING
CONFIGURATION button allows you to access to the unfolding
parameters.
The SEND PART
TO MACHINING option allows to create a new TopSolid'PunchCut document
which will contains the flat pattern and useful machining information.
This option is not displayed when TopSolid'PunchCut module is not installed.
