Corner relief
Menu access: Sheet metal | Breaks | Corner relief
Description :
Allows you to remove a vertex with a tool in order to avoid a matter roll during the bending.
![]()
General philosophy :
To unfold a sheet metal part, on top of break some edges, it is better to break the corners corresponding to the part geometrical vertex. (in the opposite case, the part can have some matter rolls which can prevent the correct realization of the internal radius.
Select the sheet metal on which the box corner relief must be applied.
Choose the parameters in the following dialog box :

Select successively the part vertex concerned by the break corner affectation.
Available option(s) :
The AUTO
option allows to affect automatically the break corners on all same type
vertex (a corner is defined by a faces number adjacent to this one). For
example, giving 3 like parameter to this function, the application will
automatically break all the corners define between three faces and that
without user has to select the corners one by one. If the function has
broken corners that the user wanted to keep, he can use the modification
function or the construction tree to remove them.
The CHANGE TYPE
OF CORNER BREAK option allows to come back to the corner type dialog
box.
Specific point(s) :
A spherical break corner can
not be used in some cases. The example below is an angle of a box with
a flange. It shows you the limitations of the spherical break corner.
Here, we can not use this type of break corner on the vertex represented
by the arrow. A cylindrical or rectangular break corner will be perfectly
suit.
