The trimming face can be the one of a solid or surface type shape. The extruded shape must not extend beyond the trimming surface. In the case of a surface with more than one possibility of trimming (ex: cylindrical surface ), it is the first intersection detected which is used for the trimming. |
Trimming by a plane:

It is possible to select a coordinate system or a face (defining a plane) of an element. |
Trimming by a point:
The trimming is done by a plane (parallel to the one define by the generatrix) at the selected point level.
